This value oriented speaker is designed for near field listening across all lower volume audio applications. Assembled from 1/8" MDF, wood veneered black on the sides and black "amplifier vinyl" on the front and backs. I think this smart, basic, black speaker goes with everything - it's like a little black dress. Can be hidden on a bookshelf and light enough to wall mount (wall mounts sold separately) if desired. Will not draw undue attention if placed in plain sight. Includes black plastic grills that are child finger resistant.
Bass response is decent, but perhaps a little farty considering the rear port and placement will impact effect. The Peerless moves an impressive amount of air for its size, pair with a powered subwoofer (sold separately) to feel the bass. Upgrade with a super tweeter for use in larger rooms and at higher outputs.
Makes decent rear speakers in 5.1+ systems in small/medium rooms. Meant for desktop usage and to be spaced at least 3 ft to about 5ft for optimal use.
